We have probably all witnessed how BREEAM has gained in publicity and reputation but not so may of us will have noticed what is built does not always match what was approved.

Well it is all change, on August 1st 2008 the assessment became two-part with the addition of the second inspection post construction. A step in the right direction but it still has a long way to go.

It is still possible to gain 'BREEAM Excellent' and still rely on an old fashioned light switch with the lights left on and the sun streaming through the window. Surely it must be a matter of time when a client takes over his building and he is guaranteed a building that is truly efficient and green!
