What would life be without durable goods? Well, I guess it would be miserable, I think so. Faltering consumer demand is being implicated for recent economic activity, as orders for durable products have fallen. As consumers are purchasing fewer items, companies order durable goods from producers, or products that should last a few years like computers or appliances. The transportation industry, though, was not impacted, as there are nevertheless orders for new planes and automobiles.
